The CAFL was born of need-the need for quality shows that would help to build our sport in the East Tennessee market.

Amateur mixed martial arts events were illegal in Tennessee until late 2008. Four current and former competitors with professional experience in business management and event planning cast a wary eye on the events that were already being produced in Kentucky and were sickened by the thought that the same sort of unprofessional, circus-type events would mar the image of amateur MMA in Tennessee. There was only one thing to do: take the bull by the horns and produce events ourselves. Thus was born the Cage Aggression Fight League. By fighters... for fighters!
